On March 18, 2018, Cambridge Security Services conducted an all-day training session for all of its school security officers. The Active Shooter Training Course was delivered by members of our Training and Development team, who are also active S.W.A.T. police officers.

Security officers assigned to educational facilities received instruction that was based on the National Tactical Officers Association’s standard on active shooter response. They learned innovative tactics and tried-and-true techniques designed for individuals responsible for protecting our children. Topics covered included a historical overview of active shooter situations including school shootings, and immediate deployment/rapid intervention tactics.

Cambridge Security’s Chief Operating Officer, Jim D’Arcy, said of the training, “Notwithstanding the recent tragedy in Parkland, we’ve always taken securing our schools very seriously. With two school-age children of my own, I understand the stress and anxiety experienced by parents every time they drop their kids off. That is why we are focused on delivering best-in-class training to our school security teams.”
